Tri-Cities Baptist Church

Our Future is History!

Ever wonder why fortune tellers work out of dumpy houses?  If they could tell the future and if their future told fortunes, it seems they could upgrade into nicer digs.  But as depressed as the fortune telling business may seem, many people have a natural craving to know what’s next.

But God has called us to live by faith and not by sight.  Several months ago, our church family experienced sudden and significant change.  The future was unclear and uncertain.  But now that future is history, and we have much to celebrate.  God has proven Himself faithful again and again.

We experienced a fresh wind of renewal through the ministry of Dr. Bob Pitman in March that prepared us for an incredible Easter, one of the best weekends ever as we celebrated 20 years of ministry, and then our hugely successful Global Impact Celebration.  These have been important days as we turn our hearts to Kingdom building and our eyes to the peoples of the world who have never heard the Gospel.

To help us apply some of the lessons learned, I’ve listed a few takeaways from the last few weeks:

(1)    God may give us more than we can bear, but He will never give us more than He can bear.

(2)    All of us stand on someone else’s shoulders…we are the product of someone else’s sacrifice.

(3)    When God birthed Tri-Cities Baptist Church, he had the nations on His mind.

These are just a few truths I’ve been revisiting and praying through in my own life.  Now I’d like to hear from you.  What has God been teaching you?  What are your “takeways” from the last six weeks at Tri-Cities Baptist Church?

Click on the “Ask Me Anything” button on the middle-right of this page, and then provide no more than 3 one-sentence takeaways. These are statements that God has spoken into your life and seared onto your heart.  I’d love to know your name, but it’s not absolutely necessary.  When you submit your entry, we will then repost as many of them as possible.

Now as we celebrate God’s faithfulness, we also see how He’s working in our church family.  As we see how He’s working in our church family, we can then join Him by faith on the adventure that is ahead.

His faithfulness yesterday builds our faith for tomorrow.
